| Ground Observing Reconnaissance Transmitter |
 |
 | |
GORT (Ground Observing Reconnaissance Transmitter) detects, follows,
and tracks people within a protected area. If the person moves to the
right, then GORT rotates to the right. If the person moves to the left,
GORT rotates to the left. If more than one person is present, GORT will
oscillate between the multiple individuals. GORT stops undesirable
activity by convincing people that they have been detected and are
being watched and followed before they have committed any crimes.
Completely wireless, passive infrared personnel sensors are set around
the protection zone to notify GORT where an intruder is located.
The standard GORT package includes four wireless motion sensors, a CCTV
camera mount as well as connections for 12vdc camera power and video
signal. The Ground Observing Reconnaissance Transmitter (GORT)
technology represents the world's first fully robotic security device.
On its own it will detect and respond to the presence of personnel
within a given protected area. The standard model comes equipped with a
200 bulb super bright LED array.
The GORT unit can be programmed to supply an "Alert Output" based upon
selectable criteria determined by the end user. GORT will send out an
RF signal to an optional Voice Alert receiver/speaker (within 1000
feet). The Voice Alert receiver can make a voice announcement on site
and trigger a call to a monitoring center.
The basic GORT model BD-LED has been upgraded to include an option for
off-site control ... potentially from anywhere in the world. Using the
new controller interface card, any device that can deliver dry contact
closure of COM to N/O will be able to trigger the GORT unit to rotate
left or right as directed by an operator. The new interface cards will
be easily accessible in the power hook-up box and contain terminals for
four NEG feeds as well as inputs for the four zones. Applying a
negative feed to any input will prompt the GORT unit to respond as if a
sensor had triggered the unit. At the same time however, the GORT will
not be off-line and will in fact continue to respond to any field
activity that might occur. The actual Controller Interface card, along
with it's companion Auxiliary Hook-up card (used for auxiliary power
and Alarm Output connections) can be easily detached and re-attached to
the GORT unit using convenient, color coded RJ-45 cables. This allows
an installer to remove the cards for easy wiring hook-up and then
quickly plug them back into the system for full operation. |
FEATURES
- Wireless PIR detection

BENEFITS
- GORT is the ultimate deterrent. When the intruder sees the light
follow him he will believe that he has been seen and that his crime is
being recorded.
- GORT will illuminate the intruder so monitoring operators will be able to see and record him clearly.
- GORT provides the most accurate visual verification before the police are called.
- GORT will enable monitoring operators to be alerted when an intruder spends too much time at a site.
- GORT is easy to install.
- Sensor battery life up to 5 years.

| FEATURE |
FUNCTION * |
| Area search when activity detected |
When
activity is detected in a given area, GORT will automatically rotate to
face the activated zone. GORT will stop, and then continue to rotate to
the adjacent zones briefly, as if looking for additional activity. GORT
will then return to the initial activated zone and track the target.
The purpose of this feature is to recreate the actions of a human
operator if they suspected activity by several intruders.
|
| Area search during current live situation |
In
some situations (such as an auto dealer after hours or parking garages)
people are allowed to be present. When activity is detected, GORT will
respond and light the target zone. GORT will periodically make small
rotational moves to the left and right and then return back to the
target zone. We call this move a "growl". GORT will growl to convince
people that they are still being watched.
|
| Area search after the termination of sustained activity |
If
one or more zones have detected sustained activity and then the
activity stops, GORT will hold its position for a set time. It will not
simply turn its light off and go to sleep. GORT will then initiate an
area wide search of all zones as if the system operator wanted to make
sure that everyone had left the area. GORT will rotate from zone to
zone and stop to "look" at each area. GORT will then do a wide panning
search in both directions returning to the area where activity was last
seen. GORT will then turn its light off.
|
Sentinel Moves during times of no activity
|
During times of no zone activity, GORT, with light OFF, will initiate a series of small rotational moves to the left and right.
|
Periodic Area searches during times of no activity
Programmable Delayed Alarm Output |
Every
30 minutes, during times of no activity, GORT will initiate an area
wide search with the light ON. These Periodic Area Searches will not be
initiated if activity is present during the time when this search is
scheduled. When the activity has terminated the Periodic Area Searches
will again be initiated 30 minutes after the termination of the last
activity. GORT can be programmed to trigger a call out via a hard-wired
or wireless link to a monitoring station or individual. The program
sets the level and duration of activity that must be met before that
alarm output is triggered. |
* References to the light being turned ON are contingent upon customer selectable switches which allow the light to remain OFF during daylight hours even if activity is present; if that is desired. |
| GORT Construction Site Security
GORT systems installed in key locations around a construction site
will provide a level of security beyond the capabilities of a security
guard or stand-alone camera systems. Put the GORT systems on power
poles or on mobile trailers near the entrances to the construction site
and next to building materials to provide maximum construction site
security. When an intruder enters the site or approaches the building
materials the GORT light will turn on and track with them as they move
through the secured zone. By incorporating a camera with the GORT the
event can be recorded and a guard or monitoring service can be
notified. The light provided by the GORT system will enhance the video
image and provide a high quality video record of the event. Because of
the movement of the GORT system the intruder will believe that he is
being watched and recorded and he will leave the site.
GORT Auto Dealership Security
GORT systems installed around an auto dealership will deter the
theft of vehicles and car parts while allowing visitors to comfortably
shop after closing hours. GORT provides the ultimate auto dealership
security solution to deter the theft of vehicles, air-bags, tires and
wheels, hood ornaments or other parts while cars are on the front lot
or in the service area. When a thief enters the secured zones the GORT
light will turn on and follow him. The light will catch his attention
even on a well lit lot and when the light tracks his movement he will
realize that his intended crime is being watched and recorded. When a
customer enters the dealership after closing hours the GORT light will
turn on and track their movement. The customer will not be concerned
that the "guard" is watching them shop because they are not doing
anything wrong.
GORT School Security
GORT systems installed around school grounds will deter
vandalism and theft of computers more effectively than a security guard
or stand-alone camera system. The GORT light will always look like it
is being operated by a human. Every half hour the GORT light will turn
on and do a "Sentinel Scan" of its secured zone. Criminals will wait
for the school security guard to go around to the other side of the
building before they conduct their crime but with GORT constantly on
watch the opportunity to conduct the crime will not arise. Security
cameras will record events, but at night, when most crimes take place,
the poor quality of the video image will make it difficult to identify
the criminals. If criminals don't know that there is a camera system
they will conduct their crime anyway. The GORT light will attract their
attention and make them believe that school security is watching and
recording the event and they will leave before the crime is committed.
GORT school security systems can provide visual confirmation to a
monitoring company before law enforcement is called out. |
